Tanapa Records brings forward its latest digital release in the form of “Gulfi’s EP” signed by Italian artist RsR alongside label head Lascu on remix duties.

With roots in funk and house under a previous alias, RsR’s musical journey took a bold turn after a period of reflection. Embracing a darker, more niche path, he emerged as a key figure in Milan’s underground minimal and experimental scene, performing in exclusive contexts and redefining soundscapes. His productions delve into a constant quest for innovation, blending diverse genres, styles and influences. Characterised by unique textures and a carefully crafted balance between deep and sharp tones, his music pushes boundaries while maintaining raw power and creativity.

Rosario, also known as RsR, has released music on labels like Ambrosia Records, Dubgestion, Tonic D Records, Kush:me and Stellie Records, establishing himself as a rising force, with new projects in the pipeline that promise to leave a lasting mark on the underground music scene. In his DJ sets, he plays with contrasts, seamlessly moving between high-energy moments and darker, laid-back atmospheres, captivating audiences with an emotional and sensorial journey unlike any other.

“The collaboration between Rosario and Lascu is unique, given the fact that their styles are quite similar, blending a dark, eerie and very mysterious sound. The three original tracks have something really special to them. Rosario breaks the ice with his carefully crafted vibes, broken patterns and some glitchy fx here and there. Lascu, on the other hand, comes with something different for his remix. The original take on “Non Dorme” hits hard, laying out a steady-paced rhythm spiced with heavily modulated vocal samples, unconventional percussive patterns and swinging background layers that create a sense of motion in stillness, perfect for the afterhours at any party. Lascu‘s reinterpretation delves deeper into the vibe, incorporating club-ready drumming for late-night sessions along with darker, tension-building atmospheres and glitched sounds that merge into a hypnotic flow as the seconds and minutes go by, collapsing into a sonic trance experience.

Opening, “F*ckDream” delivers a dissonant perspective, encompassing broken drum patterns, dreamy chords and twisted effects that elegantly contrast with the core slaps and hi-hats while the title track “Gulfi’s” lays down a low-slung groove that brings together minimal techno and dark ambient into an introspective sound perfect for dimly lit dancefloors.

Founded by Lascu in 2016, the Romanian venture Tanapa Records aims to connect DJs and producers all around the world who share a common passion for underground electronic music. Over time, the label got involved in publishing several exclusive premieres, numerous digital releases and 70 podcast episodes, with more to be revealed at the right time.
