Preesh – Behind You EP [Abartik]

Swiss label Abartik announces its 15th instalment in its main vinyl series to arrive soon with Preesh at the controls delivering “Behind You EP“, a refined selection of deep, percussive cuts that speak in low tones and slow burns.

Active since 2012, the imprint is deeply involved in Switzerland’s underground music scene, regularly organising events, publishing inspiring podcasts and constantly expanding its catalogue. Among the collaborating artists we find Jerome.c, Vid, Nick Beringer, Per Hammar, Olga Korol, Honeydrop, Cosmjn, Lumieux, Mihai Pol, Aron, Christopher Ledger, Matt & Mark Thibideau, Roger Gerressen and Denis Kaznacheev, among others.

Affiliated with Double Sound² collective and the team behind Sed.Studio as a mixing and mastering engineer, Preesh is an emerging artist with a localised yet polished discography. Aside from several independent releases on Bandcamp, he also published some of his works through labels like Same Mind, Evaporate, Rominimal Collective and Juuz Records.

Carefully restrained and rhythmically precise, each piece explores subtle tension, layered textures, and a sense of space that invites the listener in rather than pushing out. This is club music with patience, crafted for moments of transition, introspection, and understated intensity. Stripped to the essentials, yet rich in detail, the EP finds its strength in what it holds back.

The title track “Behind You” opens the material with a raw, minimalist sound, setting the mood with its driving yet intimate groove. Smooth bass pulses, subdued synths, warm piano stings and layered percussion patterns are the ingredients used here to create a swinging atmosphere. Following, “Go To Lissbon” delivers a spatial sonic journey designed with airy textures and a deep rhythm, evoking the nightlife of Portugal’s capital city.

On the flip, “Namari” showcases the artist’s signature minimal‑tech flow, laying out a rolling bassline and prominent drums that smoothly intertwine with hypnotic background pads and twisted effects, while “Lisa” closes the EP with a darker tone, best fitted for nighttime sets.
