Romanian artists Cosmin TRG and DYL team up for “Manevre” EP, delivering four futuristic “manoeuvres” alongside Dutch DJ and producer Tammo Hesselink on remix duties. Coming up on Czech label Detach Recordings, the material delivers an inspiring combination of IDM, ambient and leftfield electronica, with subtle drum & bass and techno influences, moving fluidly between tempos and atmospheres. The mastering is provided by LXC at Wattasound, while the artwork is signed by Neil Johnston and Ivan Sikyr.

As a producer, DJ and label owner, Cosmin TRG‘s dedication to developing a rich and wholly personal artistic landscape provides the driving force behind one of dance music’s most unique and industrious individuals. Pairing high-end sound design and club functionality, he’s always able to create a streamlined sonic vision without compromise, one that moves with purpose and vigour outwards to explore in-depth structures that exist on the very periphery of house, techno, ambient and experimental electronica. Aside from the works released on his own ventures Fizic and Sportiv, throughout time, he also collaborated with top-tier labels such as Hessle Audio, 50Weapons, Feral Note, Tempa, Rush Hour, Bleep, Semantica, Opal Tapes and BPitch, among others.

Hailing from Romania, DYL is a music producer who crafts versatile compositions through his explorations of techno, drum & bass and ambient music. Known for his atmospheric soundscapes, his work seamlessly fuses deep, driving rhythms with intricate layers and melodies, capturing an emotional depth that resonates across dancefloors and reflective spaces alike. His focus has consistently centred around the 170 BPM range, where he has helped shape and evolve the genre, most notably through his collaborative album “Ecou” alongside DB1, released on the Swiss imprint re:st. His music can be heard on labels like re:st, Detach Recordings, UVB-76, The Collection Artaud, Nord Label, Rawganics, Diffuse Reality, Karaoke Kalk and Monochrome Recordings.

“For me, producing isn’t just about rhythm or melody, it’s about building a world. I aim to create music that feels immersive, introspective, and at times abstract. Each track is a sonic exploration, shaped by texture, space, and emotion. Whether I’m working on solo projects or collaborations, I always focus on detail and a strong sense of sonic identity. Over the years, I’ve released music on various independent labels and connected with listeners around the world who resonate with this approach. I see music as a living, evolving form of expression, one that constantly pushes me to explore new ideas while staying true to my sound. As a young producer, one of my early inspirations was Cosmin TRG. His vision and sound had a huge influence on my artistic path. That’s why it means so much to me that our roads have finally crossed, resulting in this EP, a meaningful milestone in my journey as an artist.” – DYL

“Manevra 1” opens the EP and sets its tone with an immersive sound rooted in ambient, IDM and experimental, creating tension just as much as relieving it through its glitchy breakdowns and core layers. Following, “Manevra 2” dives deeper, laying out an abstract soundscape designed with twisted effects, melancholic chords and a reverberating, low-slug beat perfect for introspective states of mind. The track receives a spaced-out remix from Tammo Hesselink, who blurs the lines between genres even further by laying out a lurching, half-time DnB rhythm with a lazy swing. Think dusty, almost dub-like snares layered over warm, decaying kicks. The percussion is detailed and intricate, but it’s slightly buried in the mix, letting the track breathe and sway instead of rushing forward.

Our featured track, “Manevra 3”, delivers a hazy, ethereal dreamscape of dubbed-out percussion patterns and ambient swells elegantly blended with synth arpeggios that cut through like rays of light in murky water. The result is a paradox, intense yet mellow, fast yet lethargic – an enveloping sonic landscape that feels like Burial meets Autechre with a touch of LTJ Bukem in slow motion. Closing, “Manevra 4” switches gears for a different experiment, one where a deep fusion of granular ambient atmospheres and pulsating dub techno rhythms collide into one drifting sound, perfect for the early hours of the day.
