After a successful debut last year with “Humans EP” from Buzé, analoque records returns with its 2nd vinyl-only release in the form of “Last Chance EP” signed by British artist Elia Nafzger. Mastered and cut at Manmade Mastering studio in Berlin, the 4-tracker delivers a raw and driving minimal sound, blending old-school energy with a deep, rolling edge. The artwork is provided by meta-art-design.

With a background in music extending from his childhood, Elia has steadily built a reputation for himself in the underground electronic music scene, constantly delivering carefully curated sets that swing between different genres and moods, keeping the audience entertained at all times. From his early days playing at various events in and around London to memorable performances in Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria and the United States, he has grown attached to stripped-back beats, groovy basslines, dubby atmospheres and trippy synths, unceasingly forming his identity through his work.

Elia Nafzger also visited Romania on several occasions, performing alongside renowned local and international artists at Sunwaves, Misbits Record Shop, gh, Platforma Wolff and Gradina Monteoru. Among the labels he collaborated with, we find Pressure Traxx, and OOZ.

Side A opens with “Slash”, a low-slung composition powered by crisp drums, wobbling basslines, an ethereal background atmosphere and reverberated vocals that add more mystery to the whole. Following, the title track “Last Chance” lays out a groovy minimalsitic sound flavoured with retro influences, having funk-infused percussive patterns that merge with brooding textures and a dominant vocal theme, thus creating an appealing contrast.

On Side B we first find “Mudita”, an uplifting and shuffling cut that adds an extra punch to the energy so far generated, while the closing piece “Mise En Abyme” switches gears for a thundering, deep minimal sound perfect for peak-time moments on dimly lit dancefloors.
