The 4th instalment in Lok Records‘ limited edition vinyl series features the London-based duo lo:za (Louis White and Zack Barton) alongside Romanian artists Nu Zau and Costin Rp on remix duties. Titled “Mystic Dream EP”, the 12″ offers a lush blend of deep minimal rhythms and textures in an elegant package for discerning selectors and afterhours atmospheres. The mastering is provided by RV Audio while the artwork is signed by Mihai Gălbinișteanu.

With 95 digital releases, 3 previous titles in their LOK.ltd series featuring Floog, Nu Zau and Techu, as well as 2 releases under their LOK Black series from For.at (Veruh and Hummus Hernand) and Vinyl Speed Adjust (Claudiu-Eduard Balan and Andrei Predoi), the Romanian-Italian label steadily expands its catalogue, always delivering high-quality electronic music for the people.

Louis White and Zack Barton aka lo:za have been around for some time, making waves with their live and b2b sets at events powered by Renate Berlin/Real Gang in Germany, Distrikt/After Caposile and Fabric London in the UK, while also putting out a couple of releases published by Lok Records, TwoTone, Wonderground, Micronica Records and Into The Woods.

Side A is reserved for the two original cuts “Mystic Dream” and “Interested”, a complementary pair exploring uplifting minimal techno designed with stripped-down drumming patterns, wobbling basslines, dreamy atmospheres, carefully placed breakdowns and reverberating patterns that can make anyone start dancing in seconds. The hypnotic, evolving grooves create a perfect balance here.

On the flipside we find the title track remixes by Nu Zau and Costin Rp, with B1 laying out a raw minimalistic sound focused on the percussion and glitched background effects, while B2 delivers a rather dubby reinterpretation, keeping close to the original layers while adding a crisp accent on the drums.
