Fedo – Cosmobell EP [Lilas Records]

London-based venture Lilas Records announces its 6th vinyl title to arrive soon at selected record stores worldwide, showcasing four original tracks signed by Fedo, a rising name in the Eastern European minimal movement. The 12″ delivers the artist’s sonic philosophy – precision without coldness, groove without compromise – incorporating crisp percussion and rolling basslines that seamlessly blend with rich atmospheres and subtle spatial effects. This is minimalism reimagined – not cold or distant, but warm, expressive and deeply hypnotic. Limited to an exclusive run of 200 copies, this release has already gained support from artists such as Enzo Siragusa, Reiss, Raresh, Ramona Yacef, NTFO and Silat Beksi, among others.

Founded by French DJs, producers and Into The Woods residents Sofiane Krif and Tarek Charbonnier, the label has so far published five vinyl-only titles featuring Kirik, Olivian Nour, Swoy, Daniel Broesecke and the label heads themselves, with remixes from Miroloja, Cristi Cons and Nu Zau.

Sergey Fedorov aka Fedo is a Ukrainian/Greek artist with over 25 years of experience in the music industry. He began in 1996, experimenting with various instruments, synthesisers and recording media formats, including cassettes, compact discs and records. Over time, he released numerous productions, appearing on labels like Chippy Chasers, Achse Records, Dubøka, Atrium, Engineer, Artreform, Razom, BodyParts, Micronica and Juuz.

Side A opens with “Tuna”, a groovy minimal piece powered by shuffling drumming patterns, funky basslines that intertwine with gritty bass guitar stabs, extended breakdowns and jazzy influences that can make anyone start dancing in seconds. Following, the title track “Cosmobell” switches gears for a different atmosphere where the focus falls on the textures and pads, while the beat creates a hypnotic rotation complemented by heavily modulated background vocals.

On the flipside, “United One” lays out an energetic sonic affair designed with warm chords, stripped-down drums and what seems like traditional Latin music samples that run in the background yet never pierce through the core layers. Closing the EP, “No Compromice” delivers a steady-paced rhythm flavoured with minimal house, deep house and jazz flavours, perfect for laid-back afternoon sessions or the afterhours.
