Berlin-based electronic music powerhouse db artists musique presents “Highs & feels EP” signed by Romanian artist Nu Zau. The material delivers three fresh tracks that elegantly combine house and minimal grooves with sensitive vocals for an immersive experience. With 33 releases in the catalogue and many more to come, the label is a side venture of db artists PR & Booking Agency founded by Idriss D back in 2006 alongside its sister label Memento Records, well-known for shaping the underground electronic music landscape around the world for 19 years and counting.

Nu Zau has emerged as a pivotal figure in Romania’s vibrant electronic music scene, leaving an indelible mark as a producer, DJ and label manager of Why So Series, Stowaway, Out of Work and UVAR, alongside Sepp. With a distinctive sound that seamlessly blends groovy rhythms, enveloping textures, funky basslines and quirky melodies, Stefan’s unique sonic palette has garnered him widespread acclaim and positioned him as a driving force within both local and international communities. Over time, he showcased his artistic prowess through a myriad of releases (solo works or remixes), collaborating with renowned publishers like Archipel, Fear Of Flying, BP Mind Series, Adam’s Bite, Memoria Ltd, Castanea Records, Moss Co, Curtea Veche, Windmühle, Sono Unica, Bread And Butter Recordings, Aurum, Lok Records, Acmé, GETTRAUM, Aku, Mulen, Rowle and Bplr Records, to name only a few.

His influence extends far beyond the studio, as his skills behind the decks have captivated audiences worldwide on every occasion. Well-known for his ability to seamlessly transition between old-school classics and cutting-edge productions, Nu Zau‘s DJ sets are a testament to his musical versatility and depth of knowledge, no doubt.

Closing the EP, “Hype” lays out a captivating rhythm powered by shuffling drumming patterns that incorporate minimal house and breakbeat influences, prominent basslines, phased synth stabs, electric arpeggios and modulated vocal inserts that call for a dance.

In contrast, the other two tracks, “You get me high” and “Emotions”, dive into an elegant combination of melodic house and deep house as the focus falls upon the vocal themes.
