An interview with Chillohm

We’re diving into the journey of ChillOhm, an artist whose sonic storytelling moves between ambient, downtempo, and multicultural house. Born in Perpignan and shaped by a global network of experiences, ChillOhm’s music and cultural work converge in a sound that speaks of movement, introspection, and human connection.

feeder.ro: You’ve been involved in the electronic scene for many years, first as a local artist in Perpignan and then evolving internationally. How do you evaluate your trajectory so far?

ChillOhm: It’s been a steady evolution—15 years of mixing today. I started locally, driven by passion and curiosity. Over time, gigs abroad, cultural encounters, and personal growth shaped my sound. From raw energy to a more refined and intentional approach, I see a clear line—but I still feel like I’m just getting started. There’s always more to explore.

feeder.ro: Having played in venues like Suicide Circus Berlin, Es Paradis Ibiza, or Palais des Congrès Versailles, how has performing in different countries influenced your music?

ChillOhm: Each place brings its own energy. Dancefloors are never the same. Performing internationally taught me how to read a crowd, build emotion, and stay true to my sound while adapting to new contexts.

f: Your sets and productions often include ambient, downtempo, house, and multicultural influences. How did you develop this versatile palette?

ChillOhm: Through travel, time, and deep listening. I’ve always been curious about different cultures and their sounds. Instead of sticking to one genre, I blend what resonates with me—traditional instruments, electronic tones. My sound reflects many worlds.

f: Your project EXIL promotes culture and music in France. How do you balance your artistic career with this community work?

ChillOhm: For me, they’re deeply connected. EXIL feeds my vision of events, and the people’s smiles give me energy back. The balance can be intense, but it’s rewarding. Organising keeps me grounded—it reminds me why I started: to connect and share something meaningful.

f: Nomade EP on Café De Anatolia LAB feels like a natural continuation of your sound. What was the creative process behind it?

ChillOhm: It was born during an introspective period. I created tracks that felt like inner landscapes—blending electronic sounds and grooves with organic instruments. I didn’t force a concept; I let a story emerge, one that speaks of wandering and connection.

f: You’ve mentioned that each set should be a journey. How do you craft those narratives when you are behind the decks?

ChillOhm: A set is never just a list of tracks—it’s a story in motion. You feel the vibe of the place, the crowd’s energy, and your own. I build slowly, layer by layer: rhythms, textures, emotions. I love to surprise and create tension. The goal is to take people somewhere, to make them feel and forget time.

f: What is the next step for ChillOhm in 2025? Any future releases or projects you can reveal?

ChillOhm: 2025 is about going deeper, creatively and spiritually. I’m working on new tracks that mix electronic and acoustic even more, and another project is in the works. I can’t reveal too much yet—but the journey continues, and it’s getting more intense.
