After several timeless digital releases, NYC-based record label Selekt Sounds presents its first vinyl-only pressing in the Selekt Wax series featuring local artist Dragomir at the controls delivering “Trust EP”. Launched in December 2022 by Rupert Wall, the imprint’s catalogue steadily grew over the years, showcasing amazing works from the label owner himself and artists like Firesc, Modebaku, Vermeil, Ali Demir, Hendriks Toth, Easterle Paolini, Herck, Andrus, TIJN, Nektar Agu, Lynaa, Mendoza, Papilla, Rares Romanov, Rotty, Paul Walter and Maxseltram, among others.

Hailing from Bucharest, Dragomir Florian Alexandru or simply Dragomir is a prominent figure in the underground minimal scene, part of L.E.T Music (Les Enfants Terribles artists’ collective in Zurich) and 1/4 of Ritualic Experimental Group. His music incorporates influences from various genres, making him a versatile DJ and producer who has brought forward numerous independent works as well as notable releases on ventures like Tur, GRVSTRT Records, DUB Musik Limited, Micro Orbit Records, _NRV, Țaru, Telega Recordings, Relic and Na Zrak.

Deeply introspective yet effortlessly hypnotic, the record is a meditation on space, tension and the emotional resonance of stripped-down grooves. Each track pulses with a quiet intensity, crafted with care, driven by instinct and tuned to the inner ear. Etched on the sleeve, a poem by Kaela May sets the tone, inviting listeners to tune in, not just to the music, but to the stillness it surrounds.

Side A opens with the title track “Trust”, a stripped-down composition powered by intricate drumming patterns, a playful bassline, subtle jazzy elements and an electric vocal sample that adds extra depth to the story. Next up, “Mirroring” drops a moody and meditative sound where psychedelic synths go wild, spiralling into uncharted sonic territories while the drums keep rolling and maintain a consistent drive.

The B-Side is reserved for “Irresolute”, an extended 4/4 cut perfect for when the night blurs into morning, balancing tension and release in a way that feels both uplifting and unresolved. Here, emotional pads and lush breakdowns smoothly merge with introspective atmospheres and crunchy beats, creating an intriguing vibe.
