After a memorable debut on vinyl back in 2023, Romanian record label Darcoform returns with the 2nd volume of “Relics” VA, this time with Vid, Mtps, Durosai and label head Cim Pian at the controls delivering a solid dose of minimal and breakbeat. The record offers a unique sonic journey that explores the dark side of underground electronic music and stands as a testament to the imprint’s commitment to showcasing a distinct niche that shines a light on enigmatic and entrancing sounds rooted in minimal techno, microhouse and experimental.

Established in 2021, Darcoform operates on multiple levels, running an ongoing podcast series, dropping hot exclusive premieres and releasing music in both vinyl and digital formats featuring emerging and established artists alike. Among those who collaborated with the label we find Moldovan, Arseniu, Osvit, Never Alone In A Dark Room, Oleg Makovskiy, Sensek, Gruia, Railean, Sakdat & Balaur, CL-ljud, For.at, Vedran Komm and Verzila, to name just a few.

Side A opens with Vid‘s “Soundscapes”, laying out an intricate narrative designed with weaving rhythms, deep atmospheres and mysterious vocal samples that elegantly merge into a contemplative yet dynamic journey. Next, “Visions of Neverland” by Cim Pian introduces us to a dreamlike world powered by subtle melodic elements with a tight, groovy framework, evoking a sense of wonder and nostalgia that feels grounded and otherworldly at the same time.

On the flip we first find Mtps with “Book Of Truth”, a trippy composition that delivers a delicate balance of groove and introspection. With its textured layers and driving rhythm, the track resonates as a personal yet universal story, making it a standout in any minimal selector’s collection. Closing, “Str8 Chillin” by Durosai switches gears and dives into breakbeat and electro, delivering a laid-back yet punchy vibe fueled by sharp drumming patterns, sophisticated breakdowns and playful basslines, perfect for injecting energy into any set.
