After a long break, Romanian electronic music powerhouse Capodopere returns to its vinyl series with “Stereochord EP” signed by Vid. Offering two solid minimal tracks designed with distinct rhythms and textures that perfectly describe the artist’s fingerprint sound, the EP definitely adds extra flavour to the label’s discography, which now counts 8 vinyl-only releases and 66 digital titles.
Founded by Suolo back in 2013, Capodopere has been at the forefront of minimal techno and microhouse music for over a decade, always delivering top-quality music for the people. Aside from the label owner himself, the vinyl releases showcase Mihai Pol, Incolor and an undisclosed artist, while the digital setup on bandcamp sees many rising and established producers delivering amazing EPs and LPs. Among those we find Elsoo, Joaquín Gliese, Knyazev, Beckhäuser, Dru, Arthus, CL-ljud, Ivan Lopez, Alfij, Dieru, Robert David, He Did, Maarka and Audiotheque, among others.
On Side A we find “Transpose”, a hypnotic stripped-down composition fueled by swinging drumming patterns, grouchy basslines and trippy background effects that transform the whole track into a cerebral voyage and a dancefloor weapon at the same time.
On the flipside the title track “Stereochord” takes a darker turn and lays out scattered percussion that seamlessly blends with glitching pulsations and a relentless reverberated bassline that evokes the didgeridoo experience, filtered to an electric level.
Well-known for his grungy, low-slung minimalistic grooves elegantly combined with dark tones and immersive atmospheres, Vid still keeps a shroud of mystery around him, yet he operates under various aliases, runs the An|dromeda project and releases his music through prestigious labels like Rawax, Pleasure Zone, Sounds of Sirius, Counterculture Records, Memoria Recordings, Purple Print, Kontent, Hashplant, Visage LTD, UVAR and DUB Musik Limited, to name just a few.
