Noah Skelton – Pacer EP (w. Christopher Ledger remix) [Zingiber Audio]
French record label Zingiber Audio presents “Pacer EP” signed by Noah Skelton alongside Christopher Ledger on remix duties. The record marks the 14th release in the imprint’s vinyl catalogue, smoothly complementing the digital discography as well as the ongoing podcast series. Founded in 2011 by Thibaut Corsant aka COR100, the venture showcases top-quality electronic music brought forward by the owner himself and many other rising or established artists worldwide.
Born in Dublin and now based in Berlin, Noah Skelton is an Irish producer and DJ known for his deep, atmospheric sound that blends elements of minimal house, dub techno, breakbeat and ambient. In time, his constant activity transformed him into a respected figure in the underground scene, having numerous events and releases under his belt. Among the labels he worked with, we find Silencio, Rackmizar, Mayak, Irenic, Amour, Daydream, Cabinet, Stomping Grounds and Mindhelmet.
On Side A we first find “Formentario”, a steady-paced minimal cut designed with deep house influences. The warm reverberating chords and dreamy background atmospheres create a chill vibe while the drums and the weaving bassline deliver a groove that can make anyone start moving on the dancefloor. Following, the title track “Pacer” dives deeper into the mood, laying out an equally dynamic sonic journey flavoured with lush pads, crisp drumming patterns and guiding vocal samples.
On the flipside, the original take on “It’s A Flesh Wound” switches gears for a jazzy sound where breakbeat meets melancholic piano sequences while Christopher Ledger‘s remix takes everything even further, adding wobbling synth constructions, subtle psychedelia sounds and acidic layers. A must-have 12″ for collectors and selectors alike, no doubt.
