After years of silence dedicated to side projects, French artist Djena returns with a solid vinyl release enriched by a stunning remix from the legendary producer DJ W!ld. Dispatched through his imprint Layers Of Truth Records and titled “Motion Blur”, the record elegantly bridges house and breakbeat, adding extra flavour to the label’s growing catalogue, which so far features two other inspiring materials signed by Fibonacci and Quenum.

Hailing from Montpellier, Djena is a well-known name in both local and international electronic music scenes, having numerous events, releases and A&R management experience under his belt. In time, he shared the decks with many established artists and published some of his productions through labels like Stamp Records, Hermine, Inwave, Time Has Changed and Voltaire Music. He’s also part of the Som.1 duo alongside Ruhbarb, with releases on Cod3QR and R&S Records.

On Side A we find “In Motion”, a mesmerizing breakbeat track where rich atmospheric pads seamlessly blend with tribal vocal samples, stirring deep emotions and evoking mysterious sonic realms and DJ W!ld‘s remix which transforms the original into a memorable dancefloor anthem powered by an irresistible house-driven groove.

On the flip, “Thrust” dives into tech-house laying out a peak-time composition designed with hypnotic background chords and pumping drumming patterns while “Veer” slides into the afterhours with an electric and wobbling rhythm infused with ethereal breakdowns perfect for the rising sun.
