After an amazing debut with “Strange Exchange” Various Artists compilation featuring Lose Endz, V.I.C.A.R.I., Stoi and LoLo in 2023 followed by George Heerd‘s “Transition EP” released in December 2024, UK-based Myriad Records announces its 3rd vinyl pressing to arrive in April at selected record stores worldwide. Titled “Lucid Dreaming EP”, the 12″ showcases local artist Dumitrescu, a rather new name in the minimal scene but definitely one that stands out.

Romanian DJ and producer Dumitrescu dropped his first EP on Priku’s renowned label Atipic in 2020 and steadily expanded his discography with memorable releases on Particular, Midas Touch, Unutrei and Organic Society. When he takes on mixing duties his selection always tells a story and makes people dance. Among the artists he shared the DJ booth with, we find Priku, Raresh, Gescu, Sublee, Mihigh, Mihnea Rog, Arapu, Kane Solo, George Heerd, David Lazar and Dragan, to name a few.

On Side A we first find “Acid-E”, a pumping minimal house cut powered by dreamy atmospheres, reverberating acidic chords, a meandering bassline and steady-paced drumming patterns that create a slow but hypnotic progression. Next up, “Lucid Dream Gone F**ked Up” switches gears and lays out an intricate broken beat infused with evolving background pads, twisted effects, a grungy bassline and sharp synth stabs that create a complex and immersive journey.

On the flip, “Comeback” delivers a classic acid house sound elegantly calibrated to create tension on the dancefloor while “Play Pause” closes the EP with style, combining acid, electro and house elements into an unforgettable uplifting track perfect for peak-time moments at any party.
