Cim Pian – Chronosphere EP (w. Barac Remix) [PhonicHouse1 Records]

Romanian DJ and producer Cîmpian Mark Alexandru aka Cim Pian proudly presents his milestone vinyl release “Chronosphere EP” on PhonicHouse1 Records alongside Barac on remix duties. Although the artist previously published several digital releases on the label, this EP strongly highlights his distinct artistic vision while adding extra flavour to the imprint’s vinyl-only series which also features amazing titles signed by Kirik & Alia Palant, Anas M & Farid Odilbekov, Constratti, Puxumos, Vern, Macarie, Dark Syndicate and Techu.

Hailing from Reghin, Romania, Cim Pian has been a dedicated figure in the electronic music scene since 2016, forming a deep connection with the country’s influential minimal house and techno movement. Over the years, he collaborated with many influential artists and delivered some of his productions via labels like Fratii.ro, Eleutheria Records, Chippy Chasers, Wonderground, Groove Estate Records, Need For Sound, UNKN, Zebra Rec, Welter, Urban MIDI Records and his own playground Darcoform.

On Side A we find the two originals, “Chronosphere” and “Djinn”. A profound composition designed with minimal and breakbeat elements, A1 envelops the listener in complex textures and dark atmospheres, offering an immersive sonic journey perfect for opening sets on dimly lighted dancefloors. Complementing the mood, A2 provides a classic 4/4 minimal house groove infused with oriental motifs, ghostly tones and carefully placed breathing moments that steadily build a hypnotic affair.

Side B is reserved for Barac‘s reinterpretation of the title track, which adds an extra layer of depth to the project and brings a fresh perspective to the original cut. The drumming patterns smoothly build tension and create a trance-like experience, reinforcing the release’s impact.

The mastering has been handled by Rob Small while the artwork is based on an original drawing by Andrei Ardelean, with layout design contributions from Cim Pian himself.
