Lok Records presents the debut release of the LOK Black vinyl-only series with “Luminus EP” signed by the Spanish duo For.at (Veruh and Hummus Hernand) alongside Romanian artist Barac on remix duties.

The 12″ delivers a solid dose of minimal techno and breaks, marking a new chapter in the label’s journey, which started in 2009 in Timisoara, Romania and is now based in Latina, Italy. With three limited pressings from Floog, Nu Zau and Techu on the Lok Ltd sub-label and over 90 digital releases on the main series, the venture stands out as a beacon for top-quality electronic music worldwide, offering a diverse palette of rhythms and textures.

Side A opens with the title track “Luminus”, laying out a low-slung broken beat complemented by gritty effects, phased vocal samples and a pulsating bassline that permeates all layers. The rotation creates a hypnotic effect perfect for warming up dimly lighted dancefloors. Following, Barac‘s remix takes the original into psychedelic realms, offering a solid minimal sound powered by a steady-paced rhythm and ethereal atmospheres.

On Side B “Fiutur” and “Moscow” dive deep into experimental, dropping intricate stripped-down grooves constructed with inspiring combinations of breakbeat, IDM and minimal tech elements. A subtle dark tone is also felt, highlighted by the vocal layers and the message behind them.
