Seattle-based record label Soft Spoken Secret (SSS) proudly debuts with “Coming Together” EP setting the tone for a new chapter in dancefloor-driven electronic music. With one original cut by Adam Collins and two remixes from UK legend 100Hz, the imprint asserts itself as a home for cutting-edge sound, timeless artistry and deep musical storytelling.

Adam Collins has been at the forefront of underground electronic music in the United States since the mid-90s, bringing forward numerous solo materials, timeless collaborations and projects like Omni A.M. alongside Mark Brian Hobold (aka Marky Star). He’s also a co-founder of Euphoria Records whose sound challenged the strict conventions of what defined house music during the late 90s and early 2000s. The label’s first releases drew heavily from Chicago’s early days of moody acid house and emerging dance music from South London and San Francisco.

Formed by the original members Lee Renacre, James Chapman and Doran Walker, 100Hz has been around since 1988 when they used to sell white labels from the back of their car. Their style draws influence from the funkier side of house and techno with twinges of haunting vocals and odd beat patterns. Throughout time they performed at numerous events and festivals while releasing music with labels like Pacific Records, Rumour Records, Optimism, Slow Life, Oblong, BC Halo, Hi-Phen, Logistic Records, Bosconi, Doozy Cult, Mulen and Lee’s own ventures Format Records and Modugroove.

Side A opens with Adam’s original cut of “Coming Together”, a hypnotic composition designed with shuffling drumming patterns, funky elements and acidic arpeggiators. There’s a raw energy that permeates throughout and calls for a dance. 100Hz’s “DC10 Remix” brings minimal flavours to the journey, slowly building tension as the track progresses while the “コンコルド Remix” goes wonky and jazzy, closing the EP with fluid textures and a dreamy background atmosphere.
