Anton Kubikov continues his series of independent releases on Bandcamp with “Tout n’est que fumée” (Everything is smoke), a collection of 10 tracks carefully crafted with minimal techno, microhouse, deep house and funky rhythms and textures perfect for the dancefloor.

A well-known figure in the international electronic scene since the 90s, Anton Kubikov continuously delivered memorable performances, releases and collaborative projects. With well over 100 titles under his belt in both vinyl and digital formats, his music always stands out, as he deeply explores different styles and genres using a unique combination of digital and analogue gear, limitless imagination and passion for exploring new musical realms.

Everything is just smoke, I said to myself. And music is like smoke, it seems to be there and then in a second, no matter how you squint, it is gone, but at the same time, the memory of notes in the background of your memory will leave an imperceptible trace. Music carries mysterious properties, giving joy and peace, although sometimes you can’t sleep and the excitement is a giant wave and your head is spinning.

I am not a writer, I am a composer, so I only know the language of sound, although of course sometimes I insert test impulses between notes. There are contradictions, but this is also the confusion of all life, without it there will be no love, no dancing and no discoveries.

“Tout n’est que fumée” provides a mesmerizing sonic journey into minimal, house and funk, laying out meandering drumming patterns and immersive atmospheres that hit like waves in an ocean of sound. Kubikov explains: “This album captures moments of chaos and beauty, of fleeting life. It’s a way of saying everything is here and everything is gone”. The track progression tells a story, meant to be heard and felt. From uplifting cuts to introspective compositions, the LP surely delivers a one-of-a-kind experience.
