After a short break, Odette returns to her record label VDK with the imprint’s 6th vinyl-only release, delivering three distinct tracks that explore different sounds and moods. Founded in 2019 and based in Amsterdam, VDK has been her playground for intensive exploration of electronic music, focusing on various shades of house, techno and closely related genres, released in vinyl as well as digital format through VDKDGTL.

Odette is well-known in both the Dutch and international scenes, constantly curating events, dropping amazing DJ sets and collaborating with numerous artists and labels, such as Depth Over Distance, Margate, Bauns, Save My Memory, Saint and Don’t, Heisenberg, Stay Random Natasha, Moss Co., Deep Tech Records, Soundterrasse and Kindisch, among others. Her creativity is limitless and each performance or release supports this, with VDK006 making no exception.

“My favourite track on the EP. This UK garage-style track evokes so many emotions in me. I think it’s beautiful how all the sounds come together after the break. Like a soul journey.”

Taking up Side B, “Monday Morning” reveals an immersive composition designed with shuffling broken beats, wobbling basslines, enveloping background chords and mysterious phased vocals that ever-evolve into a mesmerising atmosphere perfect for reflective moments in life.

“A1 provides groove and house with a strong vox, great to get people dancing while A2 is a strong track with lots of bass, reminding me of the old tech house sound that I love so much.”

On Side A we find “Give You What You Need” and “Where Has The Love Gone”, two uplifting tracks with over 130 bpm of house-fueled sounds, pumping beats, trippy vocal samples and carefully placed breathing moments in order to create tension for the dancefloor. VDK006 will soon be available at selected record stores worldwide, so make sure this gem ends up in your vinyl collection.
