Soul Quest Records kick off their highly anticipated vinyl compilation EP series with ’Quest One’ – a straight-up journey through the soul-soaked, jazzy underbelly of London’s underground music scene, all pressed on a big black slab of love. The first edition features five grooves that effortlessly blend the downtempo, jazzy, deep house and broken-beat heat. Co-label head Max Sinàl offers three tracks, each one a masterclass in mood and vibe. The chilled jazzy flavours of ‘Let Your Hair Down’ and ‘Let You In’ are simply irresistible and come adorned with vocals from Hutch The Great and Melodi Marsh, each bringing their A-game. Then, the soulful warmth of ‘Waiting’ takes things up a notch, with Bianca Nieddu’s haunting vocals giving the track an almost otherworldly feel. Soul Quest co-founder Slxm Sol steps in to add a dreamy, deep house twist with his hypnotic remix of Coat On by KingCrowney X Zoe Kypri. The track’s got a vibe that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. To round things off, ‘So Long’ by 2fox brings the broken-beat heat, featuring deep, soulful vocals from Liam Bailey and BB James that perfectly match the track’s rhythmic groove.
