After a successful debut on vinyl signed by Sueezo, the Valencian crew behind Oven Sound features Felipe Valenzuela and Dorian Paic on the label’s second release, both part of the Oven Club family and key figures in the underground scene. Titled “A Way To Make It Work”, the EP drops four uplifting cuts designed with deep minimal grooves and funky microhouse elements. Produced in different periods of their lives, the tracks combine all that experience into this unique release.
Felipe Valenzuela and Dorian Paic have consistent experience under their belts when it comes to the international electronic music scene, with numerous events and releases to back it up. Recently, they collaborated on a new EP for NY-based label Onysia and this only set a distinct dynamic in motion for the two of them as one thing leads to another. Both sides are balanced by one bouncy minimal track and a deeper house-influenced composition, combining wobbling arrangements and smooth chords with spiking synth stabs and vibrant percussion. “String Theory” and “It’s Time” dive deep into heavy synth works, unfolding twisted outcomes perfect for peak-time moments at any party while the title track “A Way To Make It Work” and the closing cut “The Lost Track” seem like they have been crafted for the afterhours. The progression and flow of the sounds are definitely exquisite and offer a complete experience, not to be missed.
