Parisian label Stamp Records returns to its main vinyl series with the 2nd volume of “From Paris To Balkans” Various Artists compilation featuring Romanian DJ and producer Sublee, French artists Petit Batou and Dust Yard as well as Shyam from Russia. The record delivers a solid dose of deep minimal, microhouse and dub techno sounds perfect for the dancefloor, so make sure you add this gem to your vinyl collection.
Well-known for both its vinyl and digital releases, Stamp Records stands out in the international scene, always providing top-quality sounds rooted in modern electronic music. Among the artists who worked with the label we find Phoq, Los Bastoneros, Andrey Djackonda, Dimitri Monev, Vlad Arapasu, Costin Rp, Lulla, Zenk, Amin Ravelle, Silat Beksi, Radu Mirica and Ernesto Ferreyra, to name only a few.
Side A opens with “Aeki” by Sublee, a minimalistic composition designed with immersive background textures, groovy synth stabs, wobbling chords and trippy effects, The drumming patterns add a dynamic flow to the whole story and smoothly fade into “Chorganic” by Petit Batou. Here, the imprint’s founder drops a hypnotic combination of deep sounds elegantly intertwined with steady-paced drums and scattered vocal samples.
On the flip first there’s “Opium” by Dust Yard, a meticulously arranged mix of deep house and dub influences while Shyam’s “Atmo” closes the VA with a pulsating groove perfect for dimly lighted dancefloors. The folklore motifs are subtle enough to become a hypnotic lead and emphasis is kept on the percussive elements and complementary layers.
