Madrid-based record label Bohrium Records announces its 4th vinyl-only release to arrive soon at selected record stores worldwide, featuring Romanian artists Funky Trip with two original cuts and Barac on remix duties. Titled “Alpha EP”, the record delivers a solid dose of inspiring minimal rhythms mastered by Mike Grinser at Manmade Mastering while the artwork is signed by Jose Alvarez.

Funky Trip carves a distinct space in the country’s new wave of electronic music producers, exploring a soundscape rich with emotion and innovation, showcased on labels like Rawax, Nazca, Stamp Records and Artreform. For his latest EP, he invites renowned local artist Barac, founder of Moment Records, to add his signature touch on the title track, crafting a deep atmospheric journey with a psychedelic edge.

BHR004 smoothly integrates with the imprint’s concept and main catalogue which also includes Lukea‘s “Zirconiu EP” and the two parts of “Empirical Test” Various Artists compilations feat. Cojoc, Marques Sigi, Avidel, Dorothy’s Dream, Techu, Kpo, Origins Of Time and Akela (Angel Mosteiro & Joel Vazquez), who sided with label partner Coozy for an amazing b2b session at the latest showcase party at MushuROI in Cluj-Napoca which you can listen to on our soundcloud channel as part of our ongoing feeder sound podcast series. There’s also the White Series delivering true underground grooves by unknown artists, keeping the focus on the music itself rather than names.

Side A launches with “Alpha”, a hypnotic minimalistic piece anchored by dreamy ambient textures, swinging drum patterns, a wobbling bassline and ethereal vocal samples. These elements weave together with tension-filled chords, creating a deeply immersive soundscape. Next, “Dreams” introduces a groovier vibe, intensifying the percussive focus with striking keyboard stabs and phased effects that pulse throughout, while hints of melancholy seep through piano layers and complementary textures.

On the flip, Barac’s remix of “Alpha” evolves into a twisted, progressive anthem, layering spiralling synths and relentless drums into an elegant dancefloor weapon. This version steadily builds in intensity, making it an ideal tool for peak-time moments in any set.
