Chizawa Q’s ‘Xenoverse’ Album Breaks New Ground on R&S Records

In an era where true artistic innovation is rare, Chizawa Q arrives with a transformative vision that both honours electronic music’s roots and explores new sonic dimensions. His debut album, Xenoverse, set for release on November 22, 2024, on the iconic R&S Records, is poised to make a major impact.

Hailing from Yokohama, Japan, Chizawa recorded Xenoverse in view of Tokyo Bay, infusing his work with a sense of place and tradition. Following the momentum of two lead singles, “Beluga” (October 4) and “Black Nebula” (October 25), Xenoverse bridges Detroit techno’s legacy, as championed by legends like Underground Resistance, Kenny Larkin, and Carl Craig, with the forward-thinking jazz-infused techno of European pioneers Dave Angel and Vince Watson.

Chizawa describes his project as “a soundtrack to a universe yet to exist – a sci-fi journey stirring echoes of a world we’ve never known.” The album’s release on R&S Records—a label renowned for its support of Japanese artists such as Ken Ishii—is a career milestone.

Xenoverse features collaborations with Masaki Sakamoto, Kowalewski, and Dan Samsa, alongside a standout remix by Tokyo drum ‘n’ bass legend Makoto Shimizu. The album’s ten tracks traverse deep techno and intricate electronica, blending elements of jazz and abstract beats for a fully immersive experience. Already, Chizawa has garnered support from key figures in the industry, including Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Josh Wink, Ben Sims, Dave Angel, Ramon Tapia, Dino Lenny, M.A.N.D.Y., CJ Bolland, LTJ Bukem, and airplay on BBC Radio.

Set to release digitally on November 22, Xenoverse promises to be a landmark addition to the electronic music landscape.
