Hello feeders. It’s Friday, and we are thrilled to present you with a new episode of the feeder sound podcast series. This unique episode, recorded by Akela b2b Coozy at Bohrium Records Showcase at MushuROI, Cluj-Napoca, is an extended musical journey spanning just under three hours. The set, a night highlight, indicates the unique and captivating sound of Bohrium co-founders Akela and Coozy.

This outbreaking set, filled with intricate rhythms, atmospheric synths, and seamless transitions that will keep you on the edge of your seat, will take you on a musical journey into the abyssal universe of underground minimal music.

“”Cluj-Napoca is the city where our Bohrium Records (vinyl label) project started in 2019. There, we met for the first time Cojoc, one of our first founding artists who released the track “Frics”, which Priku performed for the first time at Mioritmic, and we were able to record it ourselves for the promotion of Bohrium’s first release. At that same event, we had the pleasure of seeing another great reference for us, Gescu, playing “Space Runner” by Akela, which, together with Cojoc, Avidel and Marques Sigi, completed the first VA – ‘EMPIRICAL TEST Vol. I’ of the label, and it was a great success to start the project we eagerly awaited.

Five years later, fate put us in contact with the promoters of BEATHUB, and we collaborated on our first showcase in Romania, coincidentally with an incredible club – MushuROI – in the city of Cluj-Napoca.

We came to MushuROI with the idea of showing the public the concept of the sound that characterises us and our label. Musically, we pursue a deep, unique, and identifiable sound with a minimalist approach and a fresh look at electronic music movements far from commercial channels’ circuits and trends. You will find Bohrium‘s vision investigating textures, percussions or trippy melodies, sometimes introspective, sometimes mischievous and full of life. You will find them in abstract and mechanical works where the influence of genres such as house, techno and minimal are fused.

This set was a 3-hour warm-up trip to give way to the great Mihai PolDop b2b Răzvan Ban and Aamir for an undoubtedly a night to remember.” – Angel Mosteiro & Joel Vázquez (AKELA) and Juanjo Rodríguez (COOZY)

feeder sound 432 mixed by Akela b2b Coozy, explores minimal depth. The duo crafted a distinctive narrative that embodies Bohrium‘s values of deep vibrations and highly textured soundscapes, delivering a seamless blend of house, techno, and minimal elements that highlighted their collective experience and vision.

Akela, the duo composed of Angel Mosteiro and Joel Vázquez, has been at the helm of Bohrium since its inception. Their collaboration began in 2009 in their homeland of Galicia. It has grown into a project that transcends borders, taking them from Madrid to some of Europe’s most respected underground clubs and beyond. Akela’s sound is influenced by legendary DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos and the new wave of Romanian minimal artists like Barac and Cosmjn, infusing their productions with a timeless, atmospheric quality.

Their debut release, “Space Runner,” featured on Bohrium’s first vinyl-only compilation EMPIRICAL TEST Vol. I, alongside Cojoc, Marques Sigi, and Avidel, set the tone for the label’s identity. Supported by names like Priku, Gescu, and Lizz, the release was a massive success, selling out within a month. This momentum has continued to define their trajectory, with Akela standing out as both producer and DJ, delivering refined and innovative sounds that captivate dancefloors worldwide.

Coozy, meanwhile, is the other half of Bohrium’s core, bringing a deep understanding of vinyl culture and a passion for underground music. His background in classical music and a penchant for smooth transitions lend a distinctive touch to his sets, creating an effortless flow that keeps listeners hooked from start to finish. Like Akela, Coozy’s journey into electronic music has been guided by a love for fresh and atmospheric sounds, which he meticulously curates for both the studio and the dancefloor.
