Madrid-based record label Bohrium Records returns with the 2nd volume of their Empirical Test Various Artists series, showcasing new musical perspectives with a solid minimalistic touch signed by our mysterious guest for today’s exclusive premiere, Dorothy’s Dream, alongside equally inspiring fresh tracks from Techu, Kpo and Origins Of Time. Jose Álvarez signs the artwork and the record arrives in a limited number of copies so make sure you grab yours in time.

With the first VA brought out in collaboration with Cojoc, Marques Sigi, Akela and Avidel as well as Lukea‘s “Zirconiu EP” backed up by Macarie on remix duties, Bohrium Records has also launched a mysterious side venture in the form of Bohrium White, so make sure to keep an eye out for future releases and updates at all times, having sweet grooves in mind ready to part of your vinyl collection.

Dorothy’s Dream

Opening the compilation, Dorothy’s Dream lays out a warm atmospheric composition infused with vibrant ambient and minimal soundscapes, to which ever-evolving harmonies, broken beats and trippy bell chords merge together into a solid intro to the whole VA in the form of “Awarawati”.

Well-known for his releases with M_nus, Memento Records, Body Parts, Memoria, Infuse, Unic/Apă, Botanic Minds, Cedesciu Wax and Tzinah, Fabrizio Maurizi aka Dorothy’s Dream continues to amaze and deliver proper and distinct immersive cuts on a roll. This is minimal with a special touch of psychedelic!

Following, Techu raises the tempo and takes the journey further with “Promise”, dropping a smooth combination of uplifting drumming patterns and warm textures perfect for laid-back afternoon sessions, while on the flipside, Kpo‘s “Psithurism” delivers a lively and catchy groover that smoothly blends with the closing cut “Disturbed System” by Origins Of Time, a well-rounded track and an authentic late-night banger designed with bubbly kicks and vigorous basslines, to which spaced-out vocal samples smoothly align into place.
