feeder sound exclusive premiere: Nicola Brusegan, Camilo Gil – Revolution of tha mind (Luciano Remix) [Oblivium Records]

Oblivium Records celebrates 30 years of the TR-909 drum machine that changed music history by inviting Nicola Brusegan and Camilo Gil to use the best of their creativity alongside Chilean MC and poet Tea Time (Rather Interesting, Perlon, Cadenza). The result of this collaboration is titled “Revolution of tha mind (909 poems by Tea Time)” and includes three steaming remixes signed by Luciano, Lil Mark and Chris Carrier.

Based in Venice and focused on releasing top-quality underground electronic music, Oblivium Records is headed by Nicola Brusegan and Carlo Di Roma. This first vinyl release definitely marks another chapter for the label, which so far published several digital materials from artists like Mick Jerome, Nightdrive, Steve Hammer, Tommaso Pizzelli, Dave, Maco and Marta Q, among others.

“With this remix, I wanted to use the stripped-down, pulsating beat to create a kind of hypnotic atmosphere. The Tea Time vocals also help with that, the mantra taking you to a place where time stands still… It was also pretty amazing to collaborate on a project celebrating the TR-909, which fired a million musical dreams, including my own.”

Luciano

While the original “Hood Mix” drops a classic deep house groove flavoured with swinging drumming patterns, warm background pads and inviting vocals, Cadenza’s head chef Luciano switches gears and delivers a hypnotic minimal techno reinterpretation designed with his fingerprint sound, completing the A-Side with style. Expect a driving low-slung rhythm powered by lush breakdowns to carry you on the dancefloor.

On Side B both Lil Mark‘s “Swing Tech Mix” and Chris Carrier‘s “909 Tribute Mix” explore different styles, completing the record with swinging grooves and a drop of acid. Filled with exotic vibes as well as classic arrangements, the record perfectly captures the distinct sound of the TR-909 in various combinations, making this tribute release a must-have for collectors, selectors and enthusiasts alike.
