The 4th vinyl-only instalment coming from local record label Draganenii sees label heads Andrei Ciubuc and Rhadoo drop a steaming three-tracker in the form of “About Time” EP under their A_R alias. Designed to boggle minds on the dancefloor with solid grooves, elegant Detroit references, brain-melting acid shots and roaring basslines, this record is definitely a must-have for collectors, selectors and enthusiasts alike.

Both Andrei Ciubuc and Rhadoo are well-known figures in the international electronic music scene and it’s always a surprise and pleasure to see their collaborative project A_R surface from time to time and deliver timeless productions, just like this one.

With releases on Subtil, UVAR, Anakronik, Tooloop, Cuplet, Malonian, Castanea Records and BP Mind Series, Andrei Ciubuc has been at the forefront of the Romanian minimal movement for quite some time now while Rhadoo definitely needs no introduction, as his work is widely acclaimed by thousands of people. Aside from personal endeavours at [a:rpia:r] alongside Raresh and Petre Inspirescu, his most recent productions can be found in the catalogues of Floatingchord, The Other Side, DisDat and Nervmusic.

Naming the EP, “About Time” opens the record with a steady-paced sound loaded with constant drive by the solid four-to-the-floor drumming patterns, shimmering hi-hats, a wobbling bassline and inviting vocal cuts that call for a dance. Just the right tool to get any party started.

Following, “Planet” offers a different kind of vibe, diving deep into an uplifting carousel of acidic soundscapes elegantly flavoured with bright chords, warm textures and a hypnotic pulsating bassline in focus. On the flipside, “Receiver” switches gears again, laying out a twisted broken beat infused with funky glitches, a thundering bassline and a mysterious vibe that will get your body moving in seconds.
