After a successful launch last year signed by founder Casimir von Oettingen aka CVO alongside Nick Beringer and Friz07, Berlin-based record label Paulum returns with its second release with Rangø at the controls and two steaming remixes from Roni Amitai and label head himself. Focused on bringing forward top-quality minimal, microhouse and breakbeat, the imprint gains momentum at a rapid pace while planning new showcase events.

Rangø is a rising name in the German underground scene best known for his releases with Bondage Music, Traffic Community, Hybrid, Indeep and Truesounds. Steadily making his path to the bigger stages and selected clubs in and beyond the lines of northern Germany, his DJ sets and live sets explore various shades of electronic music for sizzling warm-ups, sweaty peak time moments or dreamy after-hours alike.

Hailing from Tel Aviv, Roni Amitai is a producer, DJ, contemporary dancer and one of the founders of Terra Open Air festival. Among the labels she has published some of the works with so far, we find Concept Records, Satya and NG Trax.

While the original edit of “Paraphrase” reveals a steady-paced yet uplifting sound designed with warm textures, subtle wobbling melodies and a relentless drive, Roni Amitai‘s reinterpretation focuses on modulating the synth layers from their breezy and dubby feeling to something a bit more twisted with an acidic touch and a pinch of psychedelic.

The other original cut Antitease” opens the material with a playful house-infused rhythm that lays out a hypnotic main sequence elegantly complemented by electric synth stabs while CVO‘s remix drops a stripped-down version powered by solid low-slung drumming patterns and reverberated chords perfect for stomping on the dancefloor.
