Alex Font – Cooperation ONE 2×12″ [Acmé]
After a short break, the Spanish record label Acmé returns with head chef Alex Font presenting “Cooperation“, a new concept to be integrated into the venture’s activity and a collaborative project where the artist invites producers from all over the world to join him in the act of creating fresh sonic experiences for the international underground electronic music scene.
Marking the 9th vinyl-only instalment in the imprint’s discography, “Cooperation ONE” features Alex alongside Nayve, Vadim Oslov, Saav and Aron, all joining forces for a steaming release announced to arrive soon on selected record stores worldwide in a 2×12″ record package for collectors, selectors and enthusiasts alike. We invite you to discover some of the previous releases and find out more about the label and featured collaborating artists like Sepp, Faster, Nu Zau, Lizz and VincentIulian from our EP Reviews and Exclusive Premieres columns.
The first record features two split tracks between Alex Font and Nayve with “Laudes” revealing a deep and emotional sound dimension flavoured with a steady-paced yet driving rhythm while “Understood” goes for an uplifting affair designed with a swinging groove at the core, warm rotating textures and carefully placed breathing moments.
“Felices Los 3” include the fingerprint sound of Vadim Oslov and Saav, rolling with a thundering low-slung vibe perfect for dimly lighted dancefloors. The random mechanical synth twists add an eerie and futuristic feeling to the whole journey as it slowly unfolds itself under a barrage of solid drum kicks and low-frequency bass stabs.
In contrast, “Zurich-Valencia Crossing” sees Alex and Aron teaming up for a breezy adventure that seems pulled right out of a vivid daydream that weaves itself out of meandering melodies. A highly recommended record right here.
