Petit Batou – Atelier Reve EP (w. Nu Zau & Cosmjn remixes) [Stamp Records]
French DJ and producer Petit Batou returns to his label Stamp Records with “Atelier Reve” EP alongside Romanian artists Nu Zau and Cosmjn on remix duties. The record delivers an inspiring combination of minimal techno and microhouse rhythms and textures that surely adds even more magic to the imprint’s discography which includes vinyl and digital releases from artists like Dominic Vadim, Andrea Caioni, Alan Castro, Triptil, Andu Simion, Amin Ravelle, Costin Rp, Vlad Arapasu, Lulla, Zenk, Phoq and Ernesto Ferreyra, to name only a few.
Petit Batou‘s talent behind the decks always captivates the crowds and brings people together, as his mixing technique is used to allow people to switch to different emotional states. The very same thing can be said about his productions, which bring forward both uplifting and deep sounds. You can find out for yourself by listening to his records released on labels like Minim. All, Tzinah, Celo Records, Simple Things, Bosom Ltd, Kanja Records and, of course, Stamp Records which he founded back in 2015.
On Side A we find “Gym No Pedalo”, a warm and steady-paced cut with a breezy sound embedded into it that can make anyone start daydreaming in seconds and Nu Zau‘s remix which keeps to the original energy yet dives into that specific motion of all the layers that creates more drive to move the dancefloor.
On the flipside first there’s the title track “Atelier Reve” and, as the name implies, we’re set on yet another dreamy journey designed with lush atmospheres, bright textures and spacious breakdowns that permeate into Cosmjn‘s reinterpretation which adds an extra layer of playful pads that keeps rotating and reverberating throughout the track, giving it a hypnotic feeling. A must-have for collectors and selectors alike.
