exclusive premiere: Osvit – Running [Ambrosia Records]

Spanish imprint Ambrosia Records joins forces with the Ukrainian charitable foundation Voices of Children in order to raise funds for crucial psychological support for kids impacted by the war. This collaborative effort brings together a stunning collection of electronic music in the form of VA For Ukrainian Children signed by talented artists from all over the world, all united in their mission to aid children in Ukraine during these troubled times.

Based in Barcelona, Ambrosia Records brings forward a diverse palette of smooth electronic music sounds, from deep techno rhythms and textures to groovy minimal cuts and microhouse delights. Among the collaborating artists we find Knyazev, Q’uwa, Alicia Hush, Jack Cheler, Firesc, Luminescu and Havvoc, among many others. Well-known for his releases with Eli.sound, Soblazn, CerSenin, Tzinah, Genesis, Simple Things, Conceptual and Binaural Arts, Yura Sitov aka Osvit joins the roster here, freely expressing himself about the situation in Ukraine through the universal language of music.

“This is maybe the fastest project I’ve finished. With all the electricity blackouts it’s been almost impossible to make music. Also, the stress of being constantly bombed makes it even more difficult to find a space for inspiration. Gladly, music always comes through and this track is a great opportunity to be part of a cool VA with fellow musicians but most importantly to help Ukrainian children in these tough moments.”

Osvit

Opening the compilation, Osvit drops “Running”, a twisted minimal piece carefully crafted with ever-evolving arrangements, wobbling textures, subtly glitched layers and punchy bass stabs powered by a driving broken beat that definitely makes the track count as a powerful warm-up sonic journey.

Continuing the story, the other tracks are equally inspiring, laying out an organic flow of sounds that incorporate various styles and genres closely related to minimal techno, microhouse and breakbeat, carefully infused with subtle experimental flavours. The selection features Melihron, Thorkell Mani, Atmann, Tiesl, Eraseland, Herr Umami, Cerbu, Carzoul, Jayme Steele, Maldo, Nicc, iON, Simo, DubluD and label head Nieto. All the revenue generated by this compilation will be forwarded to Voices of Children, an organization that helps Ukrainian kids affected by the war through several programs.
