Brizman – Mama Shelly (w. Silat Beksi & Tripmastaz remixes) [Caprices Music]

The team behind the legendary Caprices Festival in Switzerland announces the first vinyl-only release to arrive from their freshly founded record label Caprices Music with Brizman at the controls alongside Silat Beksi and Tripmastaz on remix duties. Titled “Mama Shelly”, the EP represents a tribute to the artist’s mother who recently passed away and includes Linn Stern‘s vocals which imbue the title track with a melancholic feeling.

Born in Tel Aviv and now based in Berlin, Roy Brizman continues his rise as a complete electronic music master, as each time he steps behind the decks or enters the studio something beautiful will surely follow. Whether we talk about his performances or his releases we always get quality, that’s no doubt. Until now, he collaborated with labels like Subtil, Moan, Pleasure Zone, Artreform, VDK, Restart and his own playground Silvi, with more to follow in the near future. Side A is reserved for the two original cuts “Mama Shelly” and “Berlin Moment”. The title track reveals a deep and warm composition designed with a steady-paced rhythm, a solid bassline and spacious background atmospheres while Linn Stern‘s emotional vocals add even more depth to the whole story. A2 follows with a stripped-down sound designed with heavy drumming arrangements and low-slung pads, making this piece perfect for the early moments of the afterhours.

On the flipside Silat Beksi continues the journey with an uplifting reinterpretation, delivering a hypnotic banger best fitted for peak time moments at any party. Ever-evolving pads, swinging layer arrangements, trippy vocal cuts and carefully placed glitched elements are the secret ingredients here. Closing the record, Tripmastaz keeps to the nostalgic sound of the title track yet replaces the rhythm with breakbeat sequences while lowering the tempo. A must-have 12″ right here for collectors, selectors and electronic music enthusiasts alike!
