With releases on Piston Recordings, Render Obedience, Body Parts, Kanja Records, Pulsar Music, KDK Content, The Sound Collective and our “Peace in Ukraine” Various Artists series, Valeria Croft is a well-known presence in the international music scene for quite some time now. Currently, she’s based in Helsinki where her involvement in the local underground scene surely can’t go unnoticed. Hailing from Paris, The Mekanism joins this EP in order to complete the story with his fingerprint house sound.
The title track “Thankful” opens the release with an immersive and uplifting vibe designed with minimalistic rhythmic patterns, reverberating effects and eerie textures. The complementary vocals and the subtle shuffling drums add a hypnotic effect, making this cut perfect for dimly lighted dancefloors. The remix unfolds a completely different journey, as The Mekanism takes the original down the groovy house avenue, laying out a classy, breezy and engaging composition. Closing the EP, “Affectionate” delivers a playful combination of microhouse and deep house elements flavoured with warm background atmospheres and inviting vocals that create a sensual sonic affair.
