Arapu – Atipic Lab 017 [AtipicLab]

After being the first artist to release his music on Priku‘s AtipicLab series back in 2018, Arapu returns to the label with two fresh cuts, marking the 17th instalment in the Romanian venture’s catalogue. In the last 4 years, we’ve seen some of the most prominent names in the local scene showcasing their sound here, including Andu Simion, Floog, Sublee, Cosmjn, Livio & Roby, Vlad Arapasu, VincentIulian, Direkt and Lizz, among others.

With numerous performances under his belt, as well as timeless releases published through Memoria Ltd, Liniar, Pressure Traxx, Eastenderz, Metereze, No Rush, Playedby, Rawax and UVAR, to name only a few, Arapu definitely stands out as a prolific DJ and producer who consistently delivers top-quality music to the people. Just mention his name to any clued-up dancefloor connoisseur and they won’t mince their words.

Atipic Lab 017 drops two tracks designed with steady-paced rhythms and textures that dive deep into that specific microhouse sound we all love to hear and dance on. “Acoustic” lays out a meandering atmosphere carefully crafted with melancholic melodies, ever-evolving background chords and a hypnotic phased vocal sample dar adds extra warmth to the whole journey. “Replacement” maintains and explores the same feeling, displaying a groovy affair infused with shuffling percussion patterns and a bubbly bassline. Here, the breakdowns are more spacious and take the track down the afterhours avenue. A must-have for collectors and selectors alike!
