British electronic music venture Enfasi Records brings forward its third vinyl pressing with Bucharest-based DJ and producer Floog at the controls delivering four fresh cuts designed with his signature groove-driven microhouse sound. The record definitely adds even more magic to the label’s catalogue which until now featured amazing music from Spiri:tual, Vlad Arapasu, Tripmastaz, Petit Batou and Chrivu.
Floog has been steadily leaving his mark on the contemporary electronic music scene over the past years with releases on Lied, Mulen, Visionquest, Why So Series, Moscow, Vatos Locos, Atipic, Botanic Minds, Eastenderz and Hoarder, among many others. Nowadays he’s totally focused on his solo projects, yet we must not forget his work alongside Livio & Roby as Premiesku.
Side A opens with “About That”, an uplifting four-to-the-floor cut designed with a trippy arpeggio line at its core which gets smoothly complemented by twisted effects, metallic chimes and spacious breakdowns. Following, “Mystery Solved” lays out a deeper rhythm where plucked melodies, bubbling synth textures and stripped-down drumming patterns fuel a hypnotic groove.
On Side B we first find “Speak & Spell” dropping a resonant affair powered by playful synth pads, robotic sounds and glitched fluttering stab sequences. Here, you can also feel subtle old-school electro flavours incorporated into the journey, what a bliss. Closing the 12″, “Anaris” delivers an equally engaging vibe that rolls out with prominent and low-slung percussion layers, gritty insertions and dreamy bell chimes that create a warm sonic atmosphere.
