TC Studio – Fish Police EP [Metereze]

Romanian electronic music beacon Metereze returns with an amazing vinyl-only release in the form of “Fish Police EP” credited to the Romanian duo TC Studio operating under mysterious yet surprising circumstances. Designed with immersive yet engaging rhythms and textures, the record dives into unique minimal, microhouse and breaks, going deeper and beyond.

Matei Tulbure & Traian Cherecheș aka TC Studio have been around for more than a decade now, dispatching one marvellous title after another via outlets like Archipel, Magnetic Series, All Inn Black, Memoria Ltd, UVAR, Neostrictly, Cocoon, BP Mind Series and Oxmose, among others. Their distinct style draws influence from jazz, ambient, funk and anything that matches a good beat set to uncharted uptempo or downtempo moods.

Recently, Tulbure and Coon One hosted the vernissage of “Explorări Artistice ale Spațiului Public“ project, going live with an inspiring combination of experimental music and live painting that explores two distinct yet closely related art fields. The exhibition can be visited at Lente (Dionisie Lupu 78, Bucharest) until the end of the year.

Headed by Raresh, Metereze stands at the forefront of the Romanian minimal techno scene, having an extended catalogue that features artists like Dubtil, Mihai Popescu aka MP, Barac, Melodie, VincentIulian, Sublee, Ion Ludwig, Arapu and John Dimas, to name a few. This EP only adds even more magic to the whole ride.

Suitable for both peak-time and afterhours sets, the 12″ delivers everything you need, laying out deep and groovy atmospheric compositions designed with immersive rhythms and textures. Both sides present carefully crafted sonic journeys that incorporate hypnotic arrangements and eerie moods, spiralling effects as well as broken-down beats, all served with a pinch of psychedelic influences.
