Spanish venture Mate Ltd returns with its third vinyl pressing in the form of “Dreams EP” signed by Italian artist Gioele Riefolo aka Jyoel alongside JNJS and NTFO on remix duties. Based in Ibiza, the label also functions as an artist’s promotion platform and event organiser, bringing forward top-notch electronic music sounds to the people.

Born in Savona and now residing on the island, Jyoel has been in contact with music from an early age, as his older brother Raffaele Riefolo passed on to him the passion for house and techno music. At the age of 14 he starts to explore music production, making his first tracks using software. Nowadays he uses analogue synthesizers and machines in order to come out with groovy cuts influenced by minimal and deep techno. microhouse, deep house and everything in between or beyond. While the original take on “The Power That You Are Not Using” delivers a deep and breezy sound flavoured with hypnotic synth arrangements and inspiring vocal samples, The Romanian duo’s remix takes the journey into an equally engaging dimension designed with spacious background textures, laid-back drumming patterns and a really funky bassline which comes into focus exactly when it should. Heading Sintope Vinyl Series since 2008, Fechete Danut and Robert Petraru aka NTFO are well-known for their releases with SK Supreme Records, Gruuv, Kiara, Objektivity, AdMaiora and Bondage Music, among others

On Side A we first find the title track “Dreams”, which, just as its title implies, can make anyone start daydreaming in seconds. Here, the meandering pads, swinging chords and mysterious vocals constantly build tension while keeping everything best fitted for the afterhours. Jacobo Saavedra and Jay Nortown aka JNJS complete the EP with their bubbly reinterpretation, adding an extra bounce to the original cut through shuffling percussion and wobbly effects, perfect for the dancefloor.
