exclusive premiere: Alex Arnout – It’s Not Over [Fantastic Friends]

Swiss label Fantastic Friends presents “Oasis”, a steaming Various Artists compilation that brings together Dachshund, Brizman, Dieru and our featured artist for today, Alex Arnout. Founded back in 2009 and managed by Nicolas Duvoisin, the imprint stands out as a beacon for fresh and top-quality house, techno and minimal sounds brought forward by the label head himself and artists like Alejandro Vivanco, Marcelo Rosselot, Einzelkind, Liviu, Niko Maxen and Matheiu, among many others.

London-based DJ and producer Alex Arnout enjoys over 20 years of being at the forefront of underground electronic music in the United Kingdom and beyond, having started his career in Spain in the ’90s while travelling to other countries in Europe in order to perform at well-known venues and festivals. Inspired by the early sounds coming out of Chicago and Detroit, his passion took him to the studio where he developed his production skills and continues to do so all the time. His discography includes collaborations with many renowned artists and labels like One Records, Arthrob, The Exquisite Pain Recordings, Infuse, Leftroom, I’ve Seen The Future, Resonance, Lost In Time, Kwench, Fear Of Flying and his own playground Dogmatik Records, to name just a few.

Opening Side B of the record, “It’s Not Over” drops an uplifting minimal groove set at 130 bpm. Here, Alex unleashes an energetic drumming pattern to which twisted effects, ever-evolving background textures and swinging arrangements are added in order to spice things up and create a dancefloor tool perfect for peak-time moments at any party.

“Let yourself be carried away by these four deep, melodic and minimal tracks by four renowned artists of the electronic scene.”

Fantastic Friends

The other tracks are equally engaging and inspiring, rotating from the warm and melodic aesthetics of Dachshund’s opening track “Peaceful”, to the immersive and dynamic patterns of Brizman’s “Something To Me” and the intricate analogue amalgamations of the closing cut “Random Machine” by Dieru. A hypnotic journey right here, laid out by talented artists from all over the world. Highly recommended for collectors and selectors alike!
