Xandru – The Missing 3rd [Windmühle]
The 7th vinyl-only instalment in Windmühle‘s catalogue features two exquisite tracks signed by Romanian artist Alexandru Sornea aka Xandru. Titled “The Missing 3rd”, the record dives deep into microhouse sounds and arrives in a limited number of 300 copies with no repress. The material adds even more magic to the label’s discography, which features amazing works from the likes of Alex Simori, Brind, Lizz, Cally, Nu Zau and Sepp.
From hip-hop and breakbeat to house, techno and the Romanian style of minimalism, Xandru always explored the infinite possibilities of music, bringing forward amazing productions and unforgettable performances. Throughout time he collaborated with labels like Sofiamuzik, Welt Recordings, CrazyJack Records, LDN, MuM Recordings, Susur, Secret Society Chile, Isla Records, Bad Barbie Records, Haze, Eastenderz and UVAR, among others.
Both the title track “The Missing 3rd” and “Tradecraft” dive deep into lush atmospheres and spacious percussive arrangements, elegantly flavoured with immersive breakdowns and engaging layer motion. Just like in a painting, the sounds reveal colourful and soulful melodies seamlessly morphing into organic sonic flows, perfect for the afterhours or laid-back afternoon sessions. A highly recommended 12″ right here!
