exclusive premiere: Carolina Katun – Tonada De Luna Llena (Giovanni Molinaro Edit)
Giovanni Molinaro is an atypical Belgian artist well-known for his releases with Toulouse Musique, Tip Tap Records, Tonic D Records, ACHT, Hangover Music, Lethal Script, Cubek and Kommunikation Records, among others. His productions break codes as he likes to modulate, transpose and deconstruct sounds. His tracks are pleasant and sophisticated, perfect for specific places or during quieter moments when listening must be attentive.
On his quest to find the threshold between too slow and not fast enough, today he presents a structured edit of “Tonada De Luna Llena” by the talented Swiss-Mexican singer Carolina Katun. Like always, he takes time with his compositions and this can be seen here as each sound and each layer are smoothly crafted, creating an organic flow of the story. Giovanni will also release an EP with 3 original tracks in a few weeks under Sven Jaeger‘s label CUE Music, so stay tuned to his online channels for the official announcement.
“My creative approach in transforming repetitiveness into poetry comes from the fact that I always wanted to go beyond creation. Today I am a fulfilled artist, I have found a creative direction and my ultimate goal is to have fun. A piece is born in a space, an infinite universe in which everything is possible.”Giovanni Molinaro
The track delivers a steady-paced groove, designed with carefully tuned drumming patterns, elegantly placed glitched layers and shuffling hi-hats, a continuous murmur of mysterious textures that roll in the background, twisted effects and, of course, the hypnotic vocals of Carolina Katun. The entrancing rhythm will make your body want to move in an instant that’s for sure. The mastering was made by Pieter De Wagter at Equus Audio Mastering.
