The second Various Artists compilation to arrive in digital format from Atlanta-based label Mithra Records features 9 tracks signed by Mawn Lower, Alku, MJOG, Isai, Zehsh, Leff, Titino, Fugitive Artifact and Pily, our featured artist for today’s exclusive premiere. Friends from near and afar are invited to be a part of this gradient of moods and energy as from start to finish, this chapter tells a story that encompasses various perspectives of expression.

Pily has been carving out a unique sound for close to 9 years, with her music being an intense composition of ’90s house, electro, breaks and minimal. She first encountered music at the age of 16, when she jumped into a drum set and never let go. DJ-ing or moving to turntables was very intimidating since she was so inclined to acoustics. Once introduced to the gear, it was nothing but pure love for the art of mixing and she started developing the skills that now have been entrancing her musical style. Her hypnotical sound has allowed her crowd to take on a discovery journey through eclectic selections as well.

“Music is a way for artists to express, obviously that’s a given. Environments, people, lovers and muses inspire me as a producer and DJ. This track was inspired by a lover, a muse and people calling me freaky or crazy. Which is an automatic projection in my personal perspective. Who wants to be normal in a crazy world like this? Be weird, be freaky, be insane. Normality is overrated.”

“A Little Kreisi” by Pily drops a twisted combination of breaks, electro and minimal vibes which is smoothly complemented with wobbling effects, twisted arrangements and electric vocal samples. The old-school inserts and the engaging breakdowns make the cut a must-have power tool for peak-time selections at any party. From the ambient soundscapes of the first track to warm deep house sounds as well as uplifting IDM flavours, the VA delivers a full spectrum of introspective and groovy electronica, carefully selected in order to inspire.
