Ema Remedi – The Field EP [Ú Series]
After one year of hiatus, the Ú Series family welcomes Berlin-based Ema Remedi to join the label’s roster and deliver the fourth instalment in their vinyl catalogue. Titled “The Field EP”, the record brings forward two fresh, four-to-the-floor minimal cuts that can take any dancefloor by storm and surprise anyone with super groovy, body-moving sounds. The British venture’s previous releases were signed by the Italian project Iwou (Andrea Landi, Locic, Niki Bertullo), Modebaku and Ali Demir, with more to come in the near future, so stay sharp.
Ema Remedi is well-known for her intense activity in the international underground scene for quite some time now, having numerous events and releases under her belt, including collaborations with Raw Trax, Piros, Sketches Records, Loosen Up, Visionquest and Savor Music, among others. Throughout time, she explored various other creative paths as well, from being a creative designer to dwelling on downtempo and experimental music as The Tellurian Experience.
On Side A we find “Hidden Variables”, an engaging minimalistic groover set at around 129 bpm. The steady-paced yet uplifting rhythm is elegantly complemented by twisted effects, bubbling glitched layers and spaced-out breakdowns. On the flipside we find “Akasha”, an 11-minute journey that is an easy floor filler. The swinging beat provides an introspective sound while the breaks and the layers exhibit a joyful progression. A highly recommended record right here for minimal techno enthusiasts worldwide.
