Romar – Atipic 013 [Atipic]

French artist Romar presents the 13th pressing in Atipic‘s main vinyl-only series, adding even more magic to the label’s essential catalogue (aside from the AtipicLab series), which previously featured amazing materials signed by Joren Edwards, Franco Cinelli & Esteban Gutierrez, Jorge Savoretti, Ardb, Alexis Cabrera, Vlad Arapasu, Andu Simion, VincentIulian and, of course, head chef Priku.

Romar offers a unique selection by spending hours digging for vinyl and picking up music that differentiates him from the rest. Continually working on his sound, he developed his own identity over the years, combining rhythms and atmospheres that easily catch everyone’s attention. In 2011 he launched his own record label RORA, followed by ODE, Bleu Ciel, Saga and Moulinet, expanding his vision and collaborating with many talented artists from all over the world. This record makes no exception from his well-known house-infused vibes, delivering a soothing sound perfect for the dancefloor.

On Side A, the journey starts with deep yet uplifting vibes introduced by mysterious vocal samples and a thundering rhythm that is elegantly balanced by funky piano arpeggios, swinging basslines as well as engaging variations. On the flipside B1 dives into the sound even deeper, maintaining the same level of energy even if the tempo is set to be a bit higher and all the layers create a constant flow of smooth house vibrations. The closing cut drops a solid wobbling bassline that leads the story into mesmerising microhouse drumming patterns and textures. A highly recommended record for collectors and selectors alike!
