Wild Circus, the freshly founded sublabel of the Naples-based imprint Frole Records, presents its second split vinyl with Italian artist Akyra at the controls on Side A and the Midlands guys Dudley Strangeways and Mortalyf in charge with the flipside vibes. Expect some serious microhouse and minimal sounds!

Having played with the guitar and a little bit of piano from an early age, Danilo Iacone aka Akyra has followed the path of becoming an electronic music artist since he was 14 and discovered funk, disco and house. Musical maturity comes with time, as well as the attachment to his vinyls and needles. His growing experience as a producer sees him currently active on labels like Trend Records, Beagle Traxx, Wound Music, Tres14 Music, WE_R House, Blind Vision Records, Floorpiece, Aes Music and others. He also manages Meslow Records alongside Alessio Viggiano. Dudley Strangeways and Mortalyf are well-known for their affairs with Leftback Records in the UK and for their heavy-stripped and introspective minimal sound. So here’s Wild Circus 02, showcasing two distinct yet highly related styles, perfect for peak-time moments or the aferhours at any party.

On Side A, Akyra unleashes “Oldie” and “Gravity”, two uplifting and swinging cuts designed with deep and warm atmospheres, engaging rhythms, spacious and inspiring breakdowns, as well as mesmerising, ever-evolving narratives, ready to make anyone daydream in seconds. On Side B, Dudley Strangeways and Mortalyf switch gears for a dimmer sound dimension, delivering two low-slung pure minimal tracks in the form of “Joo Joo” and “First Focus”. Subtle glitching and clockwise patterns set the stage here, as the hypnotic rhythms and twisted variations will get your groove on just as the drums kick in. A highly recommended record right here!
