Italian imprint Wild Thing Records present their first vinyl-only material in the form of “Stay Away” EP signed by Matri Cardi and Matteo Guarnieri. The record brings forward a soothing mixture of deep sounds and minimal rhythms, marking a new chapter in the venture’s history which previously released digital gems from ImAman and Mario Castro aka Never Alone In A Dark Room. Early support arrives from artists like Black Loops, Sepp, Enrico Mantini, Lazare Hoche and many others.

While Matri Cardi makes his debut on vinyl here, his activity as a producer also includes amazing releases with Purism, Alma Records, Kina Music and Signatune Records. Joining this outstanding collaboration, Matteo Guarnieri is known for his EPs with Epice Magique Records, MO-OB, Bad Barbie Records, Razom, Tip Tap, Basswalk Records, Honne Music, Play Groove Recordings and Verzila‘s Welter Records.

Side A kicks in with the title track “Stay Away”, revealing an uplifting rhythm elegantly flavoured with deep house and microhouse elements. The specific wobbling chords are complemented by funky synth stabs, spacious breakdowns and mysterious vocals that pop here and there adding extra spice to the whole journey. Following, “10 04” switches gears for a more exotic sound where minimal meets progressive, as the ever-evolving background reverberations remain in focus throughout while the other layers engage in a spiralling dance, making this cut perfect for peak-time moments at any party.

Matteo’s “Nineinthemorning” opens Side B with an uptempo vibe where a raw bubbling bassline leads a serious house-infused narrative, carefully designed with swinging drumming patterns, inviting vocal cuts and a seamless energetic drive. Closing the EP, “Toxic Love” sees Matri diving deep into minimal, taking the listener into an eerie dimension powered by quirky arrangements, wobbling melodies and bright pads. A highly recommended release right here for collectors, selectors and electronic music enthusiasts alike!
