This Friday we invite local DJ and producer Nistoroiu to deliver the proper vibes for our ongoing podcast series, so get ready to move your body and enjoy today’s rhythms and textures.
Born and raised in Bucharest, Nistoroiu got in touch with the Romanian underground scene when he was around 16 or 17 years old and remained strongly passionate about it ever since. As a teen, he went to study at the Electronic Music School Berlin in 2017 where he learned a lot of new things from Jeyênne KayDee (XPQ-21), a DJ and producer since the 80s. Now, he’s 26 and loves to spin vinyl while also creating his own productions. As a selector he performed in Bucharest at venues like Motiv, Terminal Room, For Friends, Manasia, Monteoru, Control and others, had two gigs in Europe right before the pandemic in 2019 (Stuttgart and Lille) and collaborated with Assonant Circles agency, sharing the decks with a lot of artists from the ROminimal movement. He so far published some of his works with Podvodo Records and PhonicHouse1 Records, with more to come in the near future, so stay tuned!

This very rhythmic and talkative music has the power to send the listener wherever he wants to go. The artist can only pass on some feelings, feelings that we all experience at some point, in different circumstances. Each will associate the dialogue between bass, percussion and melody with one of his inner dialogues and will project the story that he lives in real life with the dialogue of sounds. This can detach people from everyday life, having a way to escape in this world of minimal.”
