The 14th instalment in Curtea Veche‘s main vinyl series presents Tel Aviv duo Romi Peles and Eden Gersztenkorn aka Oscar Pink with six brilliant tracks elegantly laid out over two records. Titled “Parallel Universe”, the album perfectly showcases the artists’ distinct take on minimal electronic music, revealing an inspiring mixture of minimal techno, microhouse, jazz and the magic of creating in the moment. In a world where there are plenty of creators, producers and new music that launches into the air every day, the two managed to find something special of their own using the power of analog machines and live performances, so their debut on wax was highly awaited by many.

Early support arrives from artists like Raresh, Nu Zau, Direkt and others.

From pure funky vibes perfect for peak-time moments at any party to deep afterhours sounds and everything in between, the LP flows smoothly and each track has its own story to be heard while being a part of it all. The vocal samples add extra magic and will guide you through the frequencies at the same time. The first jam “Donnie” drops a juicy and uplifting groove that constantly delivers tension with its skipping beats, short breakdowns and inviting vocal cuts. On the flipside “Doodles” explores a rather laid-back dimension, maintaining the energy yet going deeper into the mood, while “Strong Women” will take your soundsystem by surprise with its swinging frequencies and seductive vocals.

Switching to the second record and we’re immediately hypnotised by the breakbeat-infused drumming, fat bassline and funky flavours of “Inside The Trunk”, creatively extended into the cosmic, crunchy and shuffling narrative of “Twisted In The Wormhole”. The journey into the Parallel Universe ends with the exotic and provocative “Kiss Me”, a dreamy minimalistic composition suitable for lounge moments. A highly recommended 12″ right here for collectors and selectors alike!
