After a successful launch earlier this year with “The First Triumvirate EP” by Root & Bauch, Berlin-based GEMiNii Records returns with its second wax, inviting Denis Kaznacheev to reveal two fresh tracks designed with a solid minimal sound flavoured with twisted arrangements and subtle jazzy tones. Titled “Lovestronomy”, the EP perfectly captures the artist’s distinct take on modern electronic music while it also consolidates the label’s international presence, which is strongly related to the party concept developed by BioN and his closest friends at the legendary Club der Visionaere. In February, the imprint also released a various artists compilation in digital format to support Denis in his fight against extradition by the USA.

Heading Nervmusic since 2009, Denis Kaznacheev needs no introduction as his activity in the scene is well-known worldwide by hundreds of thousands of people, DJs, producers and party-goers alike. Side A is reserved for the title track “Lovestronomy”, a twisted uptempo composition where the prominent percussion and baseline lead an intricate flow of secondary layers and effects, bleeps and glitches, heavily modulated vocal samples and carefully placed breakdowns. On the flipside “Vivid Memories” reveals a warm steady-paced rhythm that draws eerie background melodies and textures while the breaks become more spacious and introspective. A highly recommended 12″ right here for collectors and selectors alike!
