Sublee – Atipic Lab 014 [AtipicLab]

The next pressing to arrive from Priku‘s Atipic Lab features two fresh cuts signed by Ștefan Nicu aka Sublee, marking the venture’s fourteen entry in this amazing series, which so far featured Arapu, Faster, Floog, Cosmjn, Vlad Arapasu, VincentIulian, Aparte & Dan Blatov, Direkt, Lizz, Livio & Roby, DumitrEscu and Dinu.

Well-known for his inspiring DJ sets and releases with Metereze, Baumbaum, Serialism, Contemporan, Meander, AnaloQ Music, Why So Series, Rawax, Muted Noise, Bread And Butter Recordings, Fake Society, Half Is Enough and Winder, Sublee is definitely one of the most acclaimed artists from the Romanian scene and a big influence for the international underground electronic music movement. This material sees him detach a bit from his usual ways, bringing forward an experimental sound where minimal meets dub techno.

On Side A we find “Egold”, a high-tempo dancefloor anthem designed with solid drumming patterns, melancholic textures, warm pads and a continuous flow of energy that bathes into subtle progressive influences. You can easily imagine yourself dancing on this piece on a beautiful beach, with the breeze gently cooling the air in the afternoon or early in the morning. Side B is reserved for “New Earth”, a steady-paced cut that elegantly reverberates through the frequencies with its alluring dubby chords, trippy effects and introspective narrative focused on a mysterious telluric feeling. A highly recommended 12″ right here for collectors and selectors alike!
